Early Childhood learning is an important part of a child’s holistic development. Your child will learn skills that will consolidate and build on what they have already learned at home.
What will your child learn?
Our teachers will support your child develop into a positive, confident and capable individual, and form a strong foundation for later learning. Your child will learn how to:

Meals and Nutrition
Our centre provides healthy hearty meals for the children, we align our healthy menu and meals with the National Programme 2. We encourage parents and whanau to advise our staff with food allergies their children may have and these are recorded and strictly followed through by our cook and staff.
Health and Safety
Children’s wellbeing is important and ensuring that children’s health and safety is vital to their development, we ensure that our environment is safe and hygienically maintained always.
Absent or sick children
Policies and Procedures
If your child is absent or unwell, it is important to notify our Centre Manager or teachers.
Emergencies – if there is an emergency at the centre, we will contact the parents to collect their child. Regular drills are conducted at the centre so children are aware of different emergency drills.
Illnesses, injury or incidents – It is very important to ensure that your child is kept home if he/she is not well. Please keep your child at home if your child has diarrhoea, runny nose/mucus or vomiting.
Any illnesses, injuries or incidents that happen at the centre will be recorded in our Accident book, please sign it once the teachers have notified you about the incident, also we will notify you if there is a serious injury or incident. Our teachers are first aided and training is updated regularly.
Medicine – All medicines are kept in the kitchen/fridge. Please inform teachers if your child needs medicine administered and is labelled, Teachers will only administer if medicine is prescribed by your doctor. You will need to sign the medication form when you collect your child. Please ask your Centre Manager if you need to discuss any other concerns. If a child is unwell, the Centre Manager will reserve the right to ask you to collect your child if they are sick or to refuse attendance of any children that are ill or sick.
Immunisation - We will need your child’s updated record of immunisations to site or make copies as required by the Ministry of Education.
